About Andy Chapman

After a successful career in publishing, I decided to leave the fast-paced rat race of London to pursue a more fulfilling, hands-on profession—one that allowed me to work for myself, outdoors, and in tune with nature. My passion for perfection, practical mindset, and strong work ethic led me to the world of arboriculture. Fascinated by tree work, I completed a two-year Arboricultural course at Merrist Wood College in the late 1990s, becoming a fully qualified climber.

I founded ATC in Oxted, where I lived, with a clear vision: to build an efficient, highly respected business that provides a complete service for tree work, gardens, and land management. From day one, I focused on delivering exceptional workmanship, professionalism, and reliability—values that remain the core of ATC today.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with loyal clients for over two decades, many of whom return time and again or recommend ATC to others. The dedicated team I employ shares my ethos: hardworking, polite, well-mannered, and always respectful of clients’ properties.
